Master Chinese Painter
Robert Lo (Cheng-Hsien Lo) has many art accomplishments that have gained him a respected reputation in the Asian arts. He is the painting professor at the National Taiwan University of Arts. Born in Taiwan, Lo graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts in 1967. He spent 20 years in art education before becoming a full-time professor for the National Taiwan University of Art in 1987. Robert Lo has been awarded the Medal of Chinese Arts and the Medal of Sun Yat-Sen Art Creation.
"THE FRIENDHSIP BETWEEN THE GREAT EARTH AND HUMAN
BEING" is the title of Robert Lo's art exhibition of Chinese ink painting. Using the brush pen and ink on rice paper and silk, Lo expresses the sensation, emotions, and understanding of nature through landscapes and floral paintings. With this traditional Chinese medium art form, Robert's work reflects the essence of the Chinese scenery painting.
The opening reception will be held on Friday, February 22, 2002, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The exhibition runs from February 22 to March 22, 2002. The Fontbonne College Gallery of Art-Fine Arts Building is located at 6800 Wydown Blvd., Clayton, MO 63105, and the gallery is open Monday-Thursday 9 AM to 4 PM, Fridays 9 AM to 2 PM, and Saturdays 12 to 4 PM.
