Jeanne Fischer is the founding director of the
Worldways
Children's Museum. Established in St. Louis in 1996, Worldways presents hands on exhibits designed to foster cross-cultural literacy through adventure and exploration. The museum physically and intellectually challenges
visitors, ages 4-11 to discover the fun in diversity.
Worldways features a
"Gateway to China" exhibit plus Mexico, Senegal and Philippines. Currently Ms. Fischer is directing a project on Chinese Heroes and Heroines funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Ms. Fischer earned a B.A. in International Relations & Journalism from Syracuse University in New York. She completed an M.A. in Education at St. Louis University while obtaining Teaching Certification from Washington University.
Ms. Fischer served as Adjunct faculty for two years at Webster
University, School of International Relations / Business. As a secondary school teacher she initiated courses in International Political Systems and Journalism. Ms.
Fischer's passion for travel took her to Russia as an exchange student in 1971, followed by a three-year residency in Europe and a 10-year career in the travel industry.
