Chingling
Tai received her M.A. degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her Ph.D from the
University of Hull in England. Currently She is a teacher at St. Louis University High
School and a part time instructor at Florrissant Community College.
A strong belief that involvement in community volunteer service is the best way to promote
the awareness of our nation's multicultural heritage has led her to engage her spare time
to a wide variety of civic and community organizations.
She has served the St. Louis community for many years. She was the national vice-president
of the Organization of Chinese Americans as well as the president of the St. Louis
Chapter, a board member of the Chinese Culture Association, and served a wide variety of
civic and community organizations as a member of various Boards including: St. Louis
International Film Festival, the International Folkfest, MINC (Metro In-Kind Coalition)
for disaster relief for the Bi-State Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Chinese
Cultural Festival, etc.
Currently she serves as Vice-president of the Chinese American Forum, Vice-president of
the St. Louis/Nanjing Sister City Committee, a Board Member of St. Louis Center for
International Relations, and a Board Member of the Greater St. Louis/China Business Forum.
She was recently appointed by Governor Holden as a Commissioner of the Missouri Community Service Commission.
